- Start by wearing a blouse and petticoat. The petticoat should be tied tightly around your waist, and the hemline should be at ankle length.
- Tuck the plain end of the saree into the petticoat at the center front and make one complete turn around your waist, bringing the saree to the back.
- Make pleats (around 5 to 7 pleats, depending on the width of the saree) in the front and tuck them into the petticoat, slightly towards your left hip.
- Take the remaining saree and bring it over your left shoulder from the back, letting it fall in front of you.
- Take the top edge of the saree, bring it over your head, and drape it over your right shoulder.
- Adjust the saree so that it falls evenly, with the pleats in the front arranged neatly.
- Use safety pins to secure the saree at your shoulder and waist, if necessary.
- Complete the look by adding a bindi, jewelry, and any other accessories.
